Our judging panel have had their work cut out for them trying to select from all the amazing entries to the M&M’S Short Film Festival, but we’re pleased to announce our judging panel have selected their top three filmmakers!

Christine Ubochi

Christine Ubochi

Christine is a London-based creative, with keen interests in lifting the voices of those from underrepresented groups in society. Most recently, Christine has worked with the BBC on her short film, The Skin I Move In – a simple portrayal of women existing beyond their relationships with men – and her BBC 4 radio drama En Justice.

Her works include directing David Jonsson (Industry, Rye Lane, Endeavour) and Ria Zmitrowicz (On the Edge, Three Girls, and BAFTA Breakthrough Brits 2018) for Booker Prize. The Skin I Move In was shortlisted for 'Best Director' at the Young Arrow Awards hosted by Reggie Yates.

Upcoming work includes her work with Unit9 Films for her commissioned short film, The Solo Eclipse.

Sara Harrak

Sara Harrak

Sara Harrak is a British-Moroccan Director. Sara has been in the industry for over 10 years previously working as an Assistant Director. Her credits include Alice in Wonderland for Disney, Grantchester, His House & Unforgotten.

Her short film, F**KED, aired live on Channel 4 in November 2023 and will be on 4OD until November 2024. This is as a result of F**KED winning Best British Short at the Iris Prize 2023. F**KED has since been recognised by the British Film Council, and will be featured on their upcoming online catalogue of UK shorts and new talent. The short film has also been included in a number of other festivals across the UK this year and is in early development for a TV series with Wild Mercury.

Tom Oxenham

Tom Oxenham

Tom is a British/Australian screenwriter and director. Tom trained at the National Youth Theatre and the National Film & Television School, first directing for theatre before moving to film. His films have been selected for a Vimeo Staff Pick and Film Shortage Pick of the Month, screened at BAFTA-qualifying festivals in the UK and abroad, and won Best UK Comedy at the Discover Film Awards.
