Recipe Ingredients:
- 1 pkg (1.69 oz) Milk Chocolate M&M’S – Cupid Mix, divided
- 1 pkg (15.25 oz) white cake mix
- 24 drops red food coloring
- 3/4 cup prepared vanilla frosting
Directions:
Prep Time: 15 minutes
Cook Time: 15 minutes
Total Time: 30 minutes
Equipment:
12 cake push pop molds (1 7/8-inch diameter)
- Preheat oven to 350˚F. Chop half of the Milk Chocolate M&M’S; reserve remaining M&M’S for garnish. Line three 9-inch square or round cake pans with parchment paper. Prepare cake mix according to package instructions. Divide batter evenly among 3 bowls. Stir 4 drops of food coloring into one bowl. Stir 8 drops of food coloring into another bowl and 12 drops of food coloring into remaining bowl.
- Scrape batter from one bowl into one of the prepared pans; repeat with remaining batter and pans. Top each cake with chopped M&M’S. Bake for about 15 minutes or until tester inserted in center of cake comes out clean. Let cool completely on rack.
- Using cake push pop as guide, cut out 12 disks from each cake (cut cakes slightly larger so they fit snugly into push pop mold). Reserve remaining cake scraps for another use. Spoon frosting into piping bag fitted with star tip.
- One at a time, add dark-pink disk of cake into each push pop; add 1 tsp of frosting. Layer medium-pink disk and 1 tsp of frosting over top. Place light-pink disk on top. Pipe rosettes over top. Garnish with reserved M&M’S.
Tips:
- Alternatively, layer the cake disks in shot glasses.
