M&M'S Puffed Rice Pumpkins

These Halloween pumpkins can be wrapped in cellophane and tied with a ribbon for easy gift-giving.

INGREDIENTS

2 tbsp butter

3 cups mini marshmallows

2 tsp orange food coloring gel

1 tsp vanilla extract

4 1/2 cups toasted rice cereal

1 pkg (1.7 oz) Creepy Cocoa Crisp M&M’S 

12 pretzel sticks

DIRECTIONS

1. Melt butter in large saucepan set over low heat; add marshmallows, stirring for 3 to 5 minutes or until completely melted. Stir in food coloring and vanilla. Remove from heat.

2. Immediately stir in cereal and M&M’S; divide into 12 portions. Let cool slightly.

3. Using greased hands, roll mixture into 12 balls to resemble pumpkins, sticking pretzel stick in each ball to form stem. Let cool completely on parchment paper–lined baking sheet.



Tip:For further decorating, pipe 2 leaves around pumpkin stem using tubes of store-bought green icing.
